Revocation model.
A verifier must distinguish the cryptographic integrity of evidence from its status at verification time. Revocation depends on the issuer's policy and the available status data.
Offline First principle
A signed local copy of status information may support an offline check. The result must then show the date of that copy and must not be presented as more recent than it is.
Online check
Where the use case requires current status, the verifier consults the source defined by the issuer. This network dependency must be explicit in the journey.
Decision
A technical status does not replace the verifier's business or legal rule. The applicable policy is defined for each project.
