The public normative description of the GKPR segment is section 6 of the .gkp v4 specification. This page summarises its role without creating a second normative source.

Role

The segment binds a signing operation to the bytes that precede it so adding a new signature does not rewrite the history already established.

Verification

The verifier checks ordering, integrity of each link and signature information according to the format version. For exact fields, sizes and rules, use the main specification only.
